From a borrowed pressure washer in 1994 to more than 50,000 homes restored. Family-owned. Still hands-on.

Steve launched Wash My Deck in 1994 before he even had a driver’s license. Alongside his dad and a borrowed pressure washer, he went door to door in Fairfax, cleaning and preserving one deck at a time. Neighbors talked, word spread, and soon the business was born.
Today, his son Gunner works right alongside him, a third generation, carrying on the same work ethic and values. Together they’ve restored thousands of decks, roofs, and homes across Northern Virginia with care, attention to detail, and pride.

Your deck isn’t just wood. It’s the smell of burgers on the grill. It’s your kids racing barefoot in July. It’s where you go for five quiet minutes before the house wakes up.

Your deck should feel like an invitation, not a threat. But splinters chase kids back inside, peeling stain makes it look forgotten, and bare feet don’t feel safe anymore.

Black streaks don’t just make your roof look tired — they eat away at its life. Algae, moss, and lichen quietly attack the one thing protecting everything you own.

Mold creeping up the siding. Cobwebs in corners. That dull film you can’t rinse away. Your home should shine, not apologize. Your house is your statement.

Your driveway is your welcome mat. But oil stains, tire marks, and years of grime tell a different story — one you’d never put on a welcome sign.

You don’t think about your gutters — until water pours where it shouldn’t. Overflow rots roofs, cracks foundations, and drowns landscaping.

That once-inviting deck is now gray, splintered, and tired. But under the wear is still your deck — ready to come back to life. Every year you wait, the damage deepens.

You bought composite because it was “low maintenance.” But pollen, food stains, and algae didn’t get the memo. Composite lasts longer —

Short answer: yes. Long answer: We wouldn’t touch a single blade of grass if it meant risking your family’s safety. That’s why we dilute our detergents to a safe, proven formula: 15% detergent, 5% neutral soap (for cling), 80% water.
In 30+ years, not one plant, pet, or property has been harmed. That’s our track record, and it’s not by accident.
Think of a seal as invisible armor — it blocks water and sun, keeping your wood strong but clear. When it rains, you’ll see it working as the droplets bead right off.
A stain goes a step further: it protects and colors. Semi-transparent stains let the wood grain show through, while solid stains give bold coverage and the longest-lasting finish.
Our USP: We don’t just spray and pray. Every deck gets hand-brushed detail work, taped edges, and full protection of your surrounding space.
We don’t fight the weather — we plan for it. Here’s how:
You don’t pay until your project is finished. That way, you know we’re just as motivated as you are to beat the forecast and deliver results.
